HFQ COMP VOL. 1 is almost complete. Release date:
March 2010.
THE MOANERS
have just finished recording their third full-length and first HFQ
release. Engineered by Nick Petersen of Track and Field and Jenks
Miller in Carrboro, Pittsboro, and Durham NC. It's a brave departure
from their swamp rock stronghold - earnest, delicate, and stamped
with southern soul. Earl Poole Ball (Johnny Cash, The Byrds) even
flew up from Austin TX to lay down piano. Release date: early summer
TBA 2010.
HORSEBACK's
The Invisible Mountain has received an extremely positive response
from the press, and placed second in Invisible
Oranges top 10 metal records of 2009. There are a number of Horseback
releases planned for 2010, including some splits, a vinyl version
of The Invisible Mountain and a new full-length on Aurora
Borealis. Jenks and crew are currently working on a new full length.
IN THE
YEAR OF THE PIG has finished their full length Jamon.
Release date: April 12, 2010.
LIZA KATE
is always up to something. We'll be releasing a digital-only live
album from her No Love for Ned in-studio performance. Release
date: February 23, 2010.
CALTROP is writing their next record. We can't wait and
we know you can't either. They're also playing a ton of shows this
spring in and outside NC. You don't want to miss their live show.
THE CURTAINS
OF NIGHT is writing new material too. As you guessed,
it's loud. They're also joining Bellafea for a romp around NC in April.
MOUNT MORIAH
just finished recording their debut full length with Brian Paulson.
Release date: Fall TBA 2010. They'll be playing out quite a bit this
spring, locally and around the Southeast.
BELLAFEA are
so close, ya'll - to finishing material for another full-length. Plans
are to record in June. Until then, they'll be testing out new songs
on an April romp around NC with The Curtains of Night and opening
a couple dates for The Thermals.
UN DEUX TROIS has some plans that involve playing together
again and writing the next record.
