August,
2008 -->
+ CALTROP
is on tour
supporting their new full length World Class.
We are filling lots of orders for it! Local
Independent Weekly calls it the "best record
of 2008".
Julian
Cope just said this
about it.
These guys share their Southern-bred progressive sludge
metal and shine on their most challenging and innovative
work to date. Recorded and mixed by Brian Paulson in
Carrboro NC. Out now on HFQ!
+ THE CURTAINS OF NIGHT
bring Lost Houses to HFQ on October 7, 2008.
Recorded and mixed by Nick Petersen in Carrboro NC;
a phenomenal debut from our favorite local doom-punk
duo.
+ VIOLET VECTOR
AND THE LOVELY LOVELIES have a few local
shows coming up. EP I is a popular order at
HFQ HQ...keep em coming!
+ UN DEUX TROIS
is taking the next couple months off to finish writing
their full length. Assuming recording will go as smoothly
as the "Lovers EP", expect a late
2009 release. They come out of hibernation August 16
with a one-off at the Carrboro Artscenter, opening for
The Never. They may not be playing out, but they are
still busy bees, contributing songs to Compulation III
(Pox World Empire) and The Bedroom Music Compilation
(Paperheart Music), one of which is a remix by local
superheroes Robosapien!
+ BELLAFEA
will be touring the East Coast and Midwest (Aug/Sept)
and Europe (October) in support of Cavalcade,
their debut full length released June 3, 2008 on Southern
Records.
+ MOUNT
MORIAH is resurrecting. Just wait.
+ SHUFFLE
MAGAZINE features a
CALTROP review,
a review of Approaching The Invisible Mountain
and interview with JENKS
MILLER aka HORSEBACK, photos of
The Curtains of Night, and
a Q+A with Heather McEntire (Bellafea,
Un Deux Trois, Mount Moriah).
